Tellmi data accurately reflects what the latest research tells us about self-harm in boys
Research suggests that boys self-harm in different ways to girls. Girls who self-harm are more likely to cut themselves, or to overdose (Young et al., 2007), whereas boys who self-harm are more likely to punch walls, drink heavily, take drugs, or control their eating (Nada-Raja et al., 2004).
